The Center Of The Universe Is Right Between Your Eyes But Home Is Where The Heart Is

Writers who produce a large enough body of work,” says Pallamary, “have persistent underlying themes. My first piece titled, “Who’s Reality Is It Anyway?” about the nature of subjective perception was published close to forty years ago. This new book represents a lifetime of research on that theme.

Based on a lifetime of research into shamanism, visionary states, the evolution of written communication and the roots of storytelling, award-winning author, editor, and shamanic explorer Matthew J. Pallamary takes those with open minds courageous enough to question the illusions that most of us think of as real on an expansive journey that pierces the veil of reality itself.

Pallamary’s in-depth analysis of human perception, shamanism, visionary states, cognitive neuroscience, plant and animal consciousness, and sacred geometry, as well as the prehistoric roots of our deepest cultural myths not only lay bare the illusory roots of what we have built our failing society on, it provides a detailed map that points the way through the non-sense hall of mirrors that we currently find ourselves trapped in.

In The Center Of The Universe Is Right Between Your Eyes But Home Is Where The Heart Is, Pallamary weaves a convincing tapestry that alternates threads of ancient philosophies and preserved indigenous wisdom with recent discoveries in quantum physics, psychology, and the timeless, persistent archetypes of our subconscious.

“Writers who produce a large enough body of work,” says Pallamary, “have persistent underlying themes. My first piece titled, ‘Whose Reality Is It Anyway?’ about the nature of subjective perception was published close to forty years ago. This new book represents a lifetime of research on that theme.”

In this, his thirteenth book, Pallamary says, “If you have read anything I have ever written, heard me on a podcast, a radio show, or seen me on television, video, or heard me lecture live, and you have any interest in shamanism and the meaning of visionary experience, you need to read this book. It summarizes a lifelong study of shamanism and close to a half a century of extensive psychedelic experience.

“The last thirty years of this inquiry has been focused on shamanic plants, and the last twenty of those participating in shamanic plant diets in the Amazon with Ayahuasca and other helper plants as well as with other plants and traditions found in the mountains and deserts of North, Central, and South America.

“If you want to discover the true nature of perception, self-healing, and soul retrieval, and how the evolution of our language and our current methods of communicating have not only separated us from the natural world, but trapped us in a global mirrored prison of narcissistic reflections, you need to read this book so you can find your way home.”

Pallamary recently gave a number of performances and a standing room only lecture on shamanism at the “Mysteries of the Amazon” exhibit at the Appleton Museum in Central Florida where he performed with his friends from Peru, among them artist and musician William Llerena Murayari from Pucallpa whose beautiful artwork graces the cover of this latest offering.

“I thought I might find something that captures the spirit and essence of what I had to say in this book,” Pallamary said, “and after looking at close to two hundred pieces of art on display I saw this recent painting of William’s and instantly knew that this was exactly what I was looking for, and when I asked for permission, William was gracious enough to let me use it for the cover.”

Pallamary’s novel of first contact between shamans and Jesuits in 18th century South America, titled, Land Without Evil received rave reviews along with a San Diego Book Award and was adapted into a stage and sky show performed by an Austin Texas aerial group. The making of the show was the subject of a PBS series, Arts in Context episode, which garnered an EMMY nomination.

His memoir Spirit Matters, detailing his journeys to the jungles of the Amazon took first place in the San Diego Book Awards Spiritual Book Category, and was an Award Winning Finalist in the National Best Book Awards.
