UPDATER ANNOUNCES TOP FIFTEEN MOVING DESTINATIONS OF 2017

“The list reveals that large cities are very attractive destinations for both consumers that move in and the corporations that attract them,” said Updater Founder and CEO, David Greenberg.

Updater, the nation’s leading relocation technology platform, today announced its first annual rankings of the top 15 cities Americans relocated to in 2017. Updater is a software to help streamline the moving process and currently processes nearly 20% of Americans who move. Updater’s Top Fifteen Moving Destinations was created with Updater’s unique insight into America’s migration patterns. The ranking is based on relocation data from a subset of 1,000,0000 household goods relocations from January 1, 2017, through October 1, 2017.

Updater’s Top Fifteen Moving Destinations included the number one destination – Washington, D.C. – with Dallas-Fort Worth coming in second, followed by Los Angeles, New York City, Atlanta, Austin, Houston, Philadelphia, San Francisco and Chicago. The remaining cities include Orlando, Seattle, Denver, Boston, and Phoenix. The attached infographic includes the ordered list and additional details including median household income, population, and median home prices.

“This list represents one of the largest sample sizes of Americans who are actually moving, as opposed to real estate listing or housing trends,” said Updater Founder and CEO, David Greenberg. “The list reveals that large cities are very attractive destinations for both consumers that move in and the corporations that attract them.”
