Quva Products opened pre-order sales for its revolutionary fully integrated vacuum device that delivers the best in performance for preserving food at home.
Vacuum foodsaving devices have been around for decades. Removing air and moisture can keep food fresher up to five times longer and help save up to $1,500 a year according to the manufacturers. However, they look old fashioned, occupy space in the kitchen and are specifically designed to heat seal non-reusable bags. So they end up in kitchen drawers unused.
Dutch entrepreneur Erik Spelt took a completely different approach to help people enjoy better food and create less waste. Quva is an affordable, integrated system designed to be used with re-usable containers and re-usable zipper bags. The Quva seamlessly integrates with your countertop and when it is closed all you see is a sleek 4.6” brushed steel disc. Simply press the Quva and it pops up ready for use.
“I was inspired to create Quva because like many I found myself throwing food out every week because it was no longer fresh,” said Erik Spelt, founder of Quva Products. “As a consumer I had tried several solutions, but got frustrated by their lack of user friendliness. Some of the big appliance brands have offer integrated system but even they are impractical and with a price tag of over $2,000 not very appealing. Quva offers a superior user experience and great performance packaged in a brilliant design at an affordable price.”
The device offers three different modes: Gentle for soft goods, Full for maximum performance and Quick Marinate to rapidly infuse the marinade into your foods. It is simple to use with audio feedback for each step and auto-shut off when the proper vacuum level is reached eliminating the guesswork! Liquid stop is a feature that prevents liquid for getting into the main system and the liquid stop valve can be easily removed and is dishwasher safe.
The system has a marinate mode to marinate foods in a fraction of the normal time. Preparing food for sous vide cooking becomes really easy and with the special wine adapter you can keep your favorite bottle of wine delicious for several extra days after opening.
The Quva system comes with several specially designed BPA free accessories packed with smart features.
The installation of the Quva system is easy. The most challenging part for the mounting is to find the right position in your kitchen and to drill a 4” hole. After that it is a simple six-step installation process that only requires two hands and a screwdriver. No screwing or extra drilling in your counter top is needed!
“We realize that Kickstarter is often used for gadgets such as smartwatches and iPhone stands that do not require any installation,” noted Spelt. “This product is different. It is designed to last at least 10 years, but does require installation. We know we need to have very strong offer in order to win backers for this project because of the installation! That is why we are offering it on Kickstarter with a very significant discount to reward our backers. Kickstarter is also a great way of getting interest from distribution partners. We have had the campaign live for under a week and already have had several potential business partners contact us to sell Quva it in the future.
