In what was a lifetime in the making, Tony Fraga, and FIRC Group are proud to announce the grand opening of their authentic Cuban restaurant, Hemingway’s Cuba. The restaurant is located on the fourth floor of the Cambria Hotel & Suites in Downtown Asheville.
Guests of the restaurant will enjoy a rooftop bar and a menu that features traditional Cuban entrees and small plates with a local flair. The restaurant’s slogan is the “Birth of the Cuban Daquiri in Asheville,” and that’s exactly what guests can expect to enjoy – along with exceptional meals for both lunch and dinner.
While the restaurant debuts this month, the idea behind it was born decades ago. Havana native and Founder of Hemingway’s Cuba, Tony Fraga, grew up enjoying meals with his father at El Floridita in Havana. It was widely recognized as a favorite of Ernest Hemingway who announced that they served “The Best Daquiri in the World.” Today, Hemingway’s Cuba looks to provide the same exceptional experience to their patrons.
A family trip in 2016 brought Fraga back to Cuba for the first time since the 1960s. He left knowing that the time to bring a true Cuban dining experience was perfect as the construction of the new Cambria Hotel provided the perfect venue.
Fraga explains his excitement about the restaurant saying, “I believe Hemingway’s Cuba will take people back to those Havana nights I shared with my family that provided so many great memories.”
