SONIC Tools and Aviation Institute of Maintenance Announce Partnership

SONIC Tools and Aviation Institute of Maintenance (AIM) announced today a partnership that provides AIM students with professional, precision-crafted hand tools and provides SONIC an outlet to positively influence rising aviation technicians.

The focus of the partnership will be providing practical solutions for the best aspiring aviation technicians in the country, while reducing student debt. With the partnership, SONIC Tools becomes the exclusive Tool Supplier for all 11 AIM campuses nationwide.

In addition to supplying equipment and being fully integrated into the AIM programs, SONIC has designed and manufactured an aviation-specific toolbox and tools for students and professional aviation technicians alike. The SONIC Aviation A&P Kit is the centerpiece of the partnership and will be available to purchase both at and directly at all AIM campuses throughout the country.

“The toolkit that SONIC Tools put together for our graduates is rugged, guaranteed for life, and safely housed in a beautiful shadowbox that is ready for the professional aviation hangar,” said Dr. Joel English, Vice President of Operations at AIM. “We’ve heard back from our graduates who are working in the field that some of their supervisors are actually jealous of the tools the grads brought with them onto the job.”

“Our partnership with AIM is one that should leave a lasting impression on any new technician graduating from an AIM campus. With a completed education, FAA certification, and tools to go to work, AIM graduates have the golden ticket to securing a job,” said Colby McConnell, President at SONIC Tools. “We have built a finance plan to work for each graduate that allows them to start their job with the right tools and little debt to get their careers started.”

The SONIC Aviation A&P Kit is sold at reduced pricing to AIM students, creating a specific solution for aviation technicians at an affordable price. In addition, financing is provided to all AIM students, allowing for immediate purchase after graduation. English stated, “Because of SONIC’s commitment to affordable student pricing and a generous financing plan for graduates, we’ve seen students graduate our program on a Friday, purchase a SONIC box, and be turning those wrenches at an airline the following Monday.”

The development of SONIC’s Aviation A&P Kit is important to hopeful and current aviation technicians, allowing graduates to enter the workforce with both the knowledge and skills they have gained from AIM, and the exact equipment required to excel in aviation maintenance and related fields.

AIM students will additionally receive discounts on all SONIC equipment during their enrollment, helping them better prepare for the future. SONIC and AIM will continue to develop curriculum-based tool kits and innovative ways to enhance student experience moving forward.
