“Being able to know what and where remodeling projects are happening by category supports the strategic investment decisions building product manufacturers need to make,” said Andy Reid, Chief Data Officer of Hanley Wood and President of Metrostudy.

Metrostudy, a Hanley Wood company, announced today the release of major new enhancements to its Residential Remodeling Index (RRI) data platform. Users are now able to visually map the healthiest markets for remodeling activity by category, markets that are ripe for expansion, the types of consumer driving remodeling demand, and locations of local exterior replacement contractors. Building product manufacturers, dealers, and distributors can finally accurately size their market opportunity.

“Metrostudy’s RRI is now the exclusive industry data tool that can deliver actionable intelligence to building product manufacturers seeking to optimize their sales strategy and investments in markets, products, and marketing,” said Peter Goldstone, CEO of Hanley Wood. “We are now able to provide local market project demand forecasting, consumer segmentation data, and a replacement contractor lead database – the Residential Remodeling Index Plus – all in one data platform.”

The enhanced data platform’s user interface allows clients to easily find the specific data they need and to obtain current and forecasted remodeling activity data for their defined territory of interest and/or project category. Project-specific views include kitchen and bath, carpet, flooring, deck, exterior doors, roofing, siding, windows, home additions, HVAC, and insulation. RRI+ incorporates a master database of exterior window, door, and siding replacement contractors and dealer firms, providing a zip code level view of firm concentrations by project category and including firm name and firm URL.

“Being able to know what and where remodeling projects are happening by category supports the strategic investment decisions building product manufacturers need to make,” said Andy Reid, Chief Data Officer of Hanley Wood and President of Metrostudy. “Not only does RRI+ deliver exclusive intelligence on contractor pros doing windows, siding, and door projects across the nation, it can also size the opportunity and it provides a relationship platform for building product manufacturers, dealers, and distributors to connect with contractors in order to build a sales pipeline.”

Specific features include:

  • Insights and forecasts on remodeling activity across markets, including project counts from the macro to the hyperlocal, including an understanding of market potential nationally, MSA or county level
  • Detail by zip code on the consumer groups driving demand and the volume of that demand
  • RRI interactive data visualization tool permits users to analyze data on their terms, using either standard geographies or defining their own custom territories to compare geographic territories and get market rankings based on forecasted projects and/or percentage growth rates
  • RRI+ incorporates the most comprehensive nationwide window, siding and roofing replacement contractor database on the market; includes 15,000+ firms, 19,900+ locations
