Darlene Jamison, a nurse and an artist who has been subjected to many forms of abuse upon growing up which she has recovered from with a faithful God, has completed her new book “The Silent Patient”: a moving true account of the author as a victim of abuse and her near-death experience while dealing with aneurysm, an illness that has been discovered after she has retired from her job.
Author Jamison describes what transpired during her surgery: “Then the day came, March 18, 2009. The day of the brain surgery. I was admitted into the hospital that day. During the craniotomy while I was under anesthesia during the operation, my eyes opened, and I thought they couldn’t see my eyes open. I thought it was one of the rare occasions I learned in nursing school—a patient wakes up and feels the surgical procedure. There was a loud sawing noise and a clinking noise. Actually, what happened was, I did not wake up. It was my spirit that separated from my body, and I could see every doctor and everything being done to my skull and brain. I thought to myself, How could this be? How could I see all this and be alive?”
Published by New York City-based Page Publishing, Darlene Jamison’s must-read book is about living life to the fullest and embracing a challenging season because God also provides breakthroughs and miracles to those who are suffering. Be inspired to stay joyful despite being in a difficult situation through Jamison’s powerful narration of her life events.
