Our programs seek to nurture a sense of community and comradeship among our participants.

Sunshine Coast Health Centre, considered one of the best private drug rehab and alcohol treatment programs in British Columbia, Canada, at https://www.sunshinecoasthealthcentre.ca/, is pleased to announce the three year mark for its popular “Alumni Dinner” and “Alumni Support Meeting” programs. The Alumni Dinner and Support Meeting programs are part of post-treatment support and comradeship for men who go through the Centre’s successful treatment program, based on a non-12 step methodology against drug and alcohol dependency.

“Our programs seek to nurture a sense of community and comradeship among our participants,” explained Casey Jordan, Chief Marketing Officer. “Our ‘Alumni Dinner’ and ‘Alumni Support Meeting’ Program began as a way to extend support beyond the dates of our clients treatment program, and to celebrate and support each other’s life journey away from drug or alcohol dependency. The three year mark is a significant milestone.”

Alumni dinners are complimentary dinners offered two to three times a year in major Canadian cities where large numbers of Sunshine Coast alumni live. Alumni support meetings happen bi-weekly in major cities as well and are hosted by a counselor, recovery coach, or similar professional. The dinners and support meetings have been now happening throughout Canada since the start of 2015. In British Columbia, they have been held in Vancouver, Kelowna, and Victoria; in Alberta in Edmonton and Calgary; in Ontario, in Ottawa and Toronto; and in Saskatchewan in Saskatoon and Regina. Attendance can vary from anywhere from ten to thirty in each city, and is open to all alumni of the Sunshine Coast Health Centre.

While the Alumni Dinners are, of course, reserved for those who have completed the Sunshine Coast Health Centre course of treatment, those who are currently suffering from drug or alcohol dependency can leverage the Internet to learn more about the Centre’s innovative treatment methodology. In contrast to the more religiously inspired Twelve Step program, the Centre offers a non-12 step methodology based on Viktor Frankl’s treatment philosophy of meaning. Interested persons are urged to reach out for a confidential, private consultation by visiting the website or just calling 866-487-9010. No two situations are alike and it is important to take the first step of a professional consultation to determine the best treatment methodology for any given person. Loved ones can also initiate a conversation about treatment options. It should be noted that the Centre serves men only, and is a residential program located in Powell River, British Columbia, Canada. Intake facilities do exist in major Canadian cities such as Vancouver, Victoria, Edmonton or Calgary, however.
